Story
This year I am taking part in the LoveLuton RunFest 5k to fundraise for Show Racism The Red Card, the UK’s leading anti-racism educational charity.
SRTRC provides educational workshops, training sessions, multimedia packages, and a whole host of other resources, all with the purpose of tackling racism in society. Established in 1996, the organisation utilises the high-profile status of football and football players to publicise its message. Across Britain, Show Racism the Red Card delivers training to more than 50,000 individuals per year.
SRTRC aims to combat racism through enabling role models, who are predominately but not exclusively footballers, to present an anti-racist message to young people and others. Show Racism The Red Card acknowledges that racism changes, as do the experiences of Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities in the UK. Its message and activities therefore need to be able to respond to such changes as and when appropriate.
Any donation to this brilliant charity would be much appreciated.
