Story
This year Glasgow Charity Fashion Show are proud to be partnered with Young Lives VS Cancer, a brilliant charity offering a huge range of tailored support to young people with cancer, and their families. As Charity Assistant, I am looking forward to raising as many funds as possible! I am starting off my fundraising by running the Great Scottish Run on 5th October! Please take a moment to read about the mission of this fantastic charity. Thank you.
When a child is diagnosed with cancer life becomes full of fear, for them and their family. Fear of treatment, but also of families being torn apart, overwhelming money worries, of having nowhere to turn, no one to talk to.
In Glasgow, Young Lives Vs Cancer can offer help in so many ways, from emotional support from their caring social workers, to bereavement support, when a family finds out that their child is going to die. In addition, they provide financial support to families, including half way houses across the UK, near principle treatment centres, allowing families to stay together through treatment without the added costs.
At Young Lives vs Cancer, they help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Young Lives VS Cancer will be there to help – but they can’t do it without you.
