Rachel Lawlor is raising money for Beacon Counselling

Skydive 2025 · 13 July 2025 ·

On the 13th July 2025, a team dedicated to raise funds for Beacon will skydive from a height of 11,000ft. Thanks to Black Knights, Lancaster, we have an opportunity to let people face their fears and skydive for the wellbeing of Stockport's community

Story

We’ve taken the leap—literally!

We’ve signed up to throw ourselves out of a plane!!! to raise money for a charity that means something to both of us. It's a cause that’s not only close to our hearts but vital to so many in our community.

I (Rachel) have worked at Beacon for the past five years. In that time, I’ve seen first hand just how life-changing our services can be for individuals struggling with their mental health. It’s something many of us don’t think about until it hits close to home—and when it does, the impact can be overwhelming.

Mental health challenges can affect anyone, at any time. That’s why the work Beacon does is so important.

By taking on this skydiving challenge, we’re not just aiming to raise funds—we also want to raise awareness. We want people to know that support is out there when its needed.

So, please consider sponsoring us. Not only will it make it much harder for us to back out!, but more importantly, your donation will help Beacon continue to be a lifeline for those facing mental health struggles.

Thank you for your support!
