Story
I've finally taken the leap and on 26 May, I will be putting on my running shoes and showing that I am #McrMetProud by running with Team Orange for First Generation in the Manchester 10k!
I am so proud to work as part of Manchester Met's Development Team, raising funds for Scholarships and Awards which support deserving and talented individuals.
Every day I work with inspiring students receiving donor funded awards, and they never cease to amaze me. They remind me how life changing it is to attend University, and that's why I am choosing to fundraise for Manchester Met's award-winning First Generation Programme.
This initiative is about finding inspiring and supporting talented young people, whose parents didn't attend University, into higher education and beyond. It is the campaign to transform 1,000 lives by 2025, and since it's launch in 2018 it has supported over 750 Manchester Met First Generation Scholars, and had helped 100s more students through it's pre-entry support.
I see the impact of this programme every day at work, and it makes me so proud to see young people reaching their potential and getting excited about their future careers.
Please help me reach my target of raising £200 for this cause.
Your generosity and support will motivate me to keep running and will do great things for deserving students.
Thank you!
