EDINBURGH KILTWALK
As a group of friends, we are doing the EDINBURGH KILTWALK TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE GARDEN AND NATURE at two places close to our hearts.
THIS PAGE IS TO DONATE TO HOLY ROOD HOUSE:
'I have found freedom, fun and laughter here. ..I have connected with the earth by digging the garden. I have felt the wind on my face as I cycled on a beautiful Spring morning ' Holy Rood guest
Holy Rood House, Centre for Health and Pastoral Care is in Thirsk, N. Yorks and this year celebrates 30 years since the centre opened. http://www.holyroodhouse.org.uk/
We are also walking to celebrate 80 years of youth work at Camas, the Iona Community's outdoor centre...the link to donate to Camas will follow.
Both centres are places of hope - offering hospitality, community, creativity, welcome and acceptance, particularly to people who are facing challenges. Both centres also have a strong commitment to enabling people on low incomes to be able to attend.
Both places seek to care for the earth and offer guests the opportunity to connect with nature – through gardening, home grown food, walks, reflection and through the beauty and peace of the centres' surroundings. This supports well-being and many people have found a sense of confidence, new skills and new experiences.
Donations will go to the creation of opportunities, food growing, the purchase of plants, tools, equipment and the ongoing maintenance of gardens, animals and surrounds.
We know that times are difficult for many but we would appreciate any amount, small or large.
ALL FUNDS ON THIS PAGE WILL GO TO HOLY ROOD HOUSE.
