I am running the 2025 Great North Run for Meningitis research. Our middle child Louie contracted meningitis when he was just 3 weeks old. We were one of the lucky families and fortunately Louie was treated promptly and after a scary hospital stay was discharged home fit and well. He’s now a strapping 6’3” 15 year old who loves football, guitar and technology.

I’ve been running for the last 12 years and have always wanted to complete the GNR. What better incentive than to be raising money for such a fantastic cause. If you can spare a pound or two then I would be extremely grateful.
