Cotswold Way Ultra Challenge 2026 · 13 June 2026 to 14 June 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

LightAware: Raises awareness about the effects of artificial lighting on human health and wellbeing. Stimulates discussion and investigation into the effects of artificial lighting on human health and wellbeing. Promotes equality and diversity through encouraging provision of access to civic life for those excluded by sensitivity to artificial lighting.

Story

Rachel will attempt to complete the Cotswold Way 100k Challenge in under 24 hours in aid of LightAware. This year's challenge is my hardest yet - the Cotswold Way is notoriously hilly. The goal is to finish in under 24 hours on the Ultra March, and hopefully raise a load of money for LightAware too.

LightAware exists to support those people, myself included, who cannot use LED lighting as it causes them to suffer from headaches, migraines, nausea and skin conditions.

We are campaigning for the Government to enact the Photosensitivity Exemption to retain access to incandescent and halogen bulbs. We also campaign for the Government to recognise that a policy of 'LED-only' has forced many people permanently out of work and that employers need help to provide Reasonable Adjustments to keep people in the workforce.
