Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Ian and I are going to be running the Milton Keynes winter half in aid of Hospice Ethiopia. While Ian's no beginner, running much further than a 5km parkrun is rather new to me - I've partly left setting up the page so late as I wasn't convinced I would make it until our longest training run last week!
I'm hoping that it will be worth it if we can raise some much needed funds for Hospice Ethiopia. Hospice Ethiopia promotes the provision of palliative care in order to relieve the suffering of the terminally ill in Ethiopia. They provide home-based care and free medication, so that the dying have relief from pain, and medical care to alleviate the worst symptoms.
Hospice Ethiopia is also working hard to train doctors, nurses and other medics about palliative care to ensure that more people can benefit from these vital services across the country. We're really lucky in the UK that palliative care is available from the NHS to help relieve suffering at the end of life but that's not the case in many countries.
