Story
Catherine MacLeod 1986-2025
Thank you for contributing to Catherine MacLeod’s memorial fund for Breast Cancer Now. Catherine was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013, at the age of 27. Throughout her battle with the disease, she demonstrated enormous strength, courage and grace. In 2023, four years after receiving her secondary diagnosis, Catherine committed to walk 100 miles in October for Breast Cancer Now, a charity dedicated to helping breast cancer sufferers to live well with the disease and to facilitating world class research into the prevention and treatment of breast cancer. Catherine was determined to “shut the door on stage four”. She walked 180 miles, with a litre of fluid on her lung, including 31km around the Harrogate Ringway, and through gale force winds at the tail end of Storm Babet, raising a total of £6581, placing her in the top 1% of fundraisers.
Catherine fought, to her very last breath, to stay well and to live life to the fullest despite this horrible disease. She would want us to keep fighting on her behalf. Thank you for keeping the fire burning!
