Story
As a tribute to the life of our wonderful Mum we have set up a donation page, as per her wishes, for people to donate towards research for: the early detection, prevention, treatment and care of Lung Cancer.
Mum was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer in January 2022. The Lung Department of Cancer Research is focused on finding new ways and technologies to identify lung cancer in patients at an earlier stage when the disease is more responsive to treatment.
Mum received a relatively new treatment to help prevent growth and spread of her tumours. This kept mum well, with a good quality of life for 4 precious years! The Lung department of Cancer Research UK was responsible for the funding of clinical trials in the testing and development of the drug Mum was treated with.
Currently, the Lung Department at Cancer Research UK is working on creating a vaccine to prevent lung cancer, amongst other research into targeted therapy, alternative therapies and screening technologies.
Our Mum was always thinking of others and let us know her wish to raise donations to help make an impact in Lung Cancer Research with a clear ambition to improve other peoples chances of surviving Lung Cancer.
