Escapaholics India, an adventure set in the Indian Himalayas, is an annual event raising money for Shiksha Rath slum academy in Delhi - providing after school classes, nutritious meals and healthcare to some of Delhi's poorest children

Story

In April, I will embark on a transformative journey to the Shiksha Rath slum Academy in Delhi, India. This visit will allow me to witness first-hand the profound impact that our fundraising efforts can have on the lives of children in this vibrant city. As I celebrate my 50th birthday, I am embracing a challenge that involves trekking up to 4,500 meters in the majestic Himalayas, facing various obstacles along the way. This adventure is not just a personal milestone; it is an opportunity to forge a new partnership with the incredible Escapaholics.

I am excited to announce that I will be hosting monthly 'HAPPY HIKES' in 2025. Each hike will contribute directly to our mission of supporting Shiksha Rath, where every donation—suggested at a minimum of £10—will help us provide essential resources for these deserving children. Together, we can make a significant difference in their lives.

Shiksha Rath, meaning 'Chariot of Education,' is the flagship project of Touch India Trust, a dedicated charity established in 2003. What began as a humble initiative in October 2010 has blossomed into a ground-breaking slum academy since March 15, 2014. This long-term program offers after-school classes, nutritious meals, vital life skills training, and healthcare services for children who need it most.

I invite you to join me on this journey of hope and change. Your support can help us reach our target of £600 and ensure that every child at Shiksha Rath receives the education and care they deserve. Together, we can be the catalyst for positive change—whoever you are.
