Walking for a Cause Close to My Heart 💛
This July, I'm taking on the Walk for Endo challenge - committing to walk 8,000 steps every day throughout the month to raise vital funds for Endometriosis UK.
Why This Matters to Me
As someone recently diagnosed with endometriosis, I now understand firsthand the journey that so many women face in silence. My diagnosis came after what felt like an endless struggle to be heard and taken seriously - and I'm one of the fortunate ones.
The Shocking Reality
The statistics are staggering and heartbreaking:
1 in 10 women in the UK live with endometriosis - that's around 1.5 million people
It takes an average of 8 years and 10 months from the first GP visit to get a diagnosis.
Diagnosis times have worsened by 10 months since 2020
The condition costs the UK economy £8.2 billion annually in treatment, lost work, and healthcare costs
Every Step Counts
Each of my 8,000 daily steps throughout July represents the thousands of women still waiting for answers, still being dismissed, and still fighting for proper care. Endometriosis UK provides crucial support services, funds vital research, and campaigns tirelessly to improve diagnosis times and treatment options.
Want to walk with me? You're more than welcome to join me for any of my daily walks during July! Whether it's a quick lunchtime stroll or a longer evening walk, having company makes the journey even more meaningful. Just let me know when you're free!
How You Can Help
Your donation - no matter the size - will help ensure that future generations of women don't have to endure years of pain and uncertainty like so many of us have. Together, we can make sure no woman feels alone in this journey.
Every step I take is for every woman still waiting to be believed.
Please consider supporting my walk and this incredible cause. Thank you for helping me turn my daily steps into hope for millions of women.
