While running the London Marathon, I collapsed just after the 19th mile after suffering severe heat stroke and my body began to shut down. I remember very little of what happened, but I do know that the team from St John Ambulance saved my life.

I received incredible care from their amazing volunteers, and things could have turned out very differently without their immediate medical attention.

I’m just one of many people whose lives have been saved and changed by this fantastic charity. I’d love to give something back to SJA — their work is absolutely vital.

I’m incredibly grateful to now be back to full health, and running again, albeit very slowly!

My husband Ian and I are now fundraising for SJA, and we’ll be running the 2026 London Marathon together in support of this incredible charity.
