Story
Hi everyone! ✨
I’m excited to share that I’ll be a volunteer with Warwick in Africa (WiA), a program that works to improve education in under-resourced schools across South Africa and Ghana. This summer, I will be teaching maths in North Johannesburg, supporting students in developing their skills and confidence in a subject that is often seen as challenging.
What is Warwick in Africa?
WiA is a student-led educational program that has been making a real difference since 2006. Each year, volunteers work alongside local teachers to provide engaging, high-quality lessons to students who often face overcrowded classrooms and limited learning resources. The program doesn’t just benefit students—it also helps train teachers and build long-term, sustainable improvements in education.
Why am I doing this?
Education has played a huge role in shaping who I am today, and I strongly believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn and thrive, no matter their background. In many of the schools WiA partners with, classes can have 100+ students, and resources like textbooks and equipment are scarce. By being there, I hope to support both students and teachers, creating a learning environment where every student has the chance to succeed.
How can you help?
To make this happen, I need to raise £1,000, which will directly support teaching materials, school resources, and the long-term development of WiA initiatives. Your generosity will help provide better educational opportunities for students who need them the most.
Whether you can donate, share this page, or simply help spread the word, your support means the world to me and will have a real impact on students’ futures.
Thank you so much for being part of this! ✨
