Story
I have an autistic son who is now a young adult. He was diagnosed at age 10, there was no support and no-one really explained what this meant. I read books did my research and we navigated our way through. At times it's been tough and extremely isolating. I wish En-Fold was around when he was diagnosed.
En-Fold is an amazing charity that is filling that gap for so many families, providing a lifeline, reducing isolation and helping them to navigate the long and complex diagnostic journey. When the opportunity to apply for a job at En-Fold came up I knew I had to go for it.
I have been working for En-Fold for 2 years now and am so pleased to be part of such an amazing charity and using my lived experience to support individuals and their families. It's fantastic to be able to provide something that wasn't there for us, but has such a positive impact.
I am running London Landmarks half marathon in April to raise money for this Autism Support Charity, so that we can reach more individuals and their families, and so the charity can continue to expand and develop to meet the needs of the autistic community in Northampton.
