London Marathon 2026 · 26 April 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

Our first ever team of dedicated runners are taking on the TCS London Marathon in April. Every step they take will bring us closer to ensuring no one has to rebuild their lives alone following catastrophic injury.

Story

I'm supporting Day One Trauma Support by running the 26.2 mile TCS London Marathon.

In July 2023, I had a freak accident whilst out running, resulting in a broken pelvis, dislocated hip, permanent nerve damage in my right leg and complete right foot drop. I was a regular runner and passionate midwife working in the NHS. The injury I had been left with was totally devastating, initially leaving me unsure if I’d ever be able to walk and work again.

Day One were an amazing support to me, during a time when my life felt so uncertain. They provided me with weekly counselling, peer support from someone who’d suffered a similar injury and financial support to cover my gym costs, so that I could continue my physio outside of the hospital.

Thankfully, I am making amazing progress in my recovery. So amazing, that I’m now in a position to be able to strive to achieve this new goal, of completing The London Marathon 2026 and give back to this wonderful charity!

Please support me and help to raise valuable funds for people who have suffered catastrophic injuries. Every donation will make a huge difference.

Day One receives no NHS or government funding, so every pound raised will make a huge difference to people affected by life-changing injury.

Together we can ensure no one has to rebuild their life on their own.
