Rachel Mathias is raising money for Bowel Cancer UK
In memory of Liz Biggar

Waterfalls Walk 2025 · 25 October 2025 to 26 October 2025 ·

We’re the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity. We’re determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. Our vision is a future where nobody dies of the disease.

Story

In memory of Rachel’s wonderful mum, Liz, who is missed SO much, and in support of Rachel’s dad, John, who was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer earlier this year; Rachel Mathias and her amazing friends, Alice Viles and Hannah Star, will be taking part in the Waterfalls Walk on Saturday 25th October.

Rachel’s beautiful mum lost her brave fight with cancer in 2021 at just 66 and her loss is felt every single day by Rachel, her brother Daniel, and her four gorgeous grandchildren. Not a day goes by where she is not thought of and remembered.

Rachel’s dad is recovering from major surgery, which lasted almost 8 hours, which removed 75% of his colon. While the surgery was a success the prognosis of what comes next is unclear and he will no doubt be benefitting in some way by the wonderful work that Bowel Cancer UK do.

We hope to raise £1,000 and would be so grateful for any donation you can spare. Thank you 🙏.

Bowel Cancer UK is the leading bowel cancer charity. They fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care.
