Wear A Hat For Rachel Howard 2025

Wear A Hat Day 2025 · 28 March 2025 ·
In October 2023 Rachel was diagnosed with a brain tumour which has devastated hers and her family's lives. Rachel has been bravely battling this awful disease and is now receiving end of life care surrounded by her Husband, two sons, her parents, brother and sister-in-law and other close family and friends.
Rachel Howard (Miss Flather) is a much loved member of staff at Oasis Academy Watermead and has been the office manager for the past 9 years.
As a community we would like to raise vital funds and to raise further awareness in Rachels name.
We would like to raise money and awareness for a charitable cause that is very important to Rachels family and Friends so please donate and help us reach our target in aid of Brain Tumour Research. Anything you can contribute towards helping us achieve our target will be massively appreciated.
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease since records began in 2002.
The diagnosis of a brain tumour can potentially have a large impact on the financial status of a patient and their family.
Brain Tumour Research investigated this matter and found that the average household affected by a brain tumour will lose £14,783 per year as a result of a brain tumour diagnosis.
Wear A Hat Day is one of the UK’s biggest and best-loved brain tumour awareness and fundraising days, bringing people together across the nation as they put on their favourite hats and make a donation, or attend a fundraising hat-themed event.
Brain Tumour Research has become synonymous with hats and hatting. Wearing a hat reminds us of those who have been personally affected by this devastating disease and helps spread awareness of our cause.
This year’s Wear A Hat Day is on the 28th March! We would love for as many people as possible to take part.
So, whether you favour a fedora or a fascinator, a beanie or a beret, by wearing your finest headgear and taking part, you can help bring hope to the one in three people who knows someone affected by a brain tumour.
You can make an even bigger impact when you invite other people to get involved and spread the fun as well as awareness of our cause.
