Story

A little bit about why The Archie Foundations holds a special place in our heart...

Our little Edie had her first 3 night stay within the Children's Unit at Raigmore at only 4 days old. We had another week long stay when she was only 9 months old with regular visits for scans & check ups afterwards until she got the all clear from her Consultant on 2nd February 2018. Thankfully, at 8yrs old, she's now no longer a regular visitor and hasn't been for a long time but she knows just how sick she got and how both she and us as her family received the most amazing care & support, to which we will all be forever grateful.

I completed the Dunrobin Abseil for The Archie Foundation in May 2022 and swore never again... I was absolutely petrified, but my kind-hearted boy & Edie's amazing big brother Joel, asked if he could do it now that he is old enough and I couldn't let him do it alone... so here we are. He was by Edie's side at every opportunity he could be when she was in hospital and the fact he wants to do this to raise money for The Archie Foundation is making my heart soar with pride.

So, this is where we are asking for your support. We will be completing the abseil at Dunrobin Castle on the 27th September, time tbc - Joel will be completely out of his comfort zone as he's never done anything like this before and I will more than likely be greeting in a corner somewhere knowing what's coming. If you are able to donate even £1 we would be super grateful and please know it will go a long way in supporting families in situations we have one too many times found ourselves in.

From the bottom of my heart if you are able to donate, Thank You, and if not thank you for getting this far reading our story and please think of us on the day!! xxx

Please help me to support local sick children by donating whatever you can afford. Every donation makes a difference and helps to support the Highland Children's Unit. Money raised will be used to fund specialist equipment, advanced staff training, emergency grants for patients and their families, and outdoor garden spaces.

Your support has a huge impact on local sick children.
