Story
Losing Dad to brain cancer when I was 12 shaped the person I became. As time has passed, I’ve come to terms with the fact that he’ll never see the man I become and that kind of loss will never really leave me.
I’ll be fundraising again for Brain Tumour Research, and I’ll also be donating 25% to Pancreatic Cancer UK — in memory of my school teacher, Tim, who lost his life to pancreatic cancer. He was someone who mattered deeply, and his loss is still felt every day in the Harrogate community.
This summer, I’m taking on my biggest challenge yet: running over 1,000 miles, from the top to the bottom of the UK. I’ll be doing it over the course of the summer. This is not just for my dad, but for everyone taken too early, and for the families left behind to figure life out without them.
To the people back home, those I met while travelling, and everyone I’ve just started uni with — your support genuinely means the world. If you’re able to share or repost, it helps this reach far beyond me and makes a real difference.
This run is about turning grief into movement and memory into purpose. This is running through fear.
Thank you to everyone who supports, shares, or simply believes in why this matters.
This is more than a run.
This is for them. ❤️
P.s there may be a few extra challenges along the way ;)
One in three people in the UK knows someone affected by a brain tumour. This disease is indiscriminate; it can affect anyone at any age. Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease since records began in 2002.
Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this. It is the only national charity focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours. Help fund the fight. Together we will find a cure.
