Ultra Marathon · 11 October 2024

On August 13 2011, two year old Lyla Nsouli was diagnosed with a terrible form of brain cancer called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). She passed away only 5 months later. Lyla's family set up this foundation in her honour to fund research into treatment and, eventually, a cure for DIPG.

Story

I am running a 100 mile race in California (Kodiak by UTMB) and am raising funds for the Lyla Nsouli Foundation, a cause that has deeply touched my heart. The Nsouli family’s story, and the immense loss they endured, moved me profoundly. Through this effort, I hope to contribute in some small way to preventing others from experiencing the same suffering. The foundation is dedicated to advancing research and support for children affected by DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma), a devastating pediatric brain cancer.

By supporting this fundraiser, you can help make a difference in the fight against this cruel disease. Every step I take during the race is dedicated to this mission—ensuring that more families don’t have to face the heartache that Lyla’s family endured.
