Story
The RAF Association (RAFA) are committed to a simple yet important mission: to support and enable the RAF community to meet the challenges of everyday life. The RAF Association's role is that of a central, coalescing force; one that brings together individuals and communities to improve the lives of those who serve and have served, their families and loved ones.
So please donate and help me raise money to help RAFA continue this mission.
More on the challenge. The Thames Path 100km Challenge is a 100km Ultra Marathon that starts at Putney Bridge and follows the river Thames to end in Henley-On-Thames. I've set myself the goal of finishing in under 13 hours, which will mean an average speed of just under 5mph. That may not be fast, but it's certainly faster than walking pace, especially when you factor in stopping at aid stations!
This event only has a completion rate of 75%. Which may sound okay, but when compared to the London Marathon's 99%, just finishing may turn into the goal on the day. This is certainly not a 'show up and give it a go' kind of event. So please dig deep and sponsor me if you can. When I'm 10 hours in and still have a half marathon distance to go and every muscle in my body is cramping, and all my joints are screaming at me to stop; it will be thought of the money that I've raised and the good that it will do which will keep me moving forward to the finish line!
