100k Step Challenge for EcoJudaism

Rafi Addlestone is raising money for EcoJudaism

100k Step Challenge · 12 August 2025

Our mission- to take the UK Jewish community from bal tashchit-don't waste and don't destroy, to tikkun olam-saving the planet for future generations We do this through measurable resources (environmental audit & carbon measure) education, events & collaboration with other climate faith groups

Story

The climate and nature crisis is overwhelming in urgency and scale. Without big changes, we will see huge instability to our economy and society in our lifetime. On current trends, our children can expect to grow up into a more dangerous, more unstable and less prosperous world.

That's why we need all parts of society to come together to pursue a better future, to take on the climate and nature crisis and limit the risks it represents.

I am proud of my Jewish heritage and tradition. Rabbi Sacks talks about Judaism in terms of protest, that the world is not as it ought to be. We are instructed to 'Choose Life' (Deuteronomy 30:19) and take responsibility for healing our fractured world.

That's what powers us at EcoJudaism, where I'm proud to be a Trustee and why I'm doing this ridiculous challenge - 100k steps around London's Capital Ring in one day - to raise awareness of this most vital of issues and to raise much needed funds to support EcoJudaism's vital work.

Please do give generously!
