We hail from a good and comfortable family, we had a commercial property which was hard earned, by my grand-father and my father. 25 years ago my father built it and completed the project. We had just started earning better from the property and the government authorities demolished our commercial property which was illegal and with ulterior motives. We have been fighting against them since then in courts.

My mother is a doctor by profession and since it was a property that had blood and sweat of my father she decided to take it to the court and fight for justice. At the time she didn’t understand a thing about the court procedure or law. It was costly to heir good lawyers and on a day when we had no money and visited a lawyer to understand what he is going to do on the hearing day he said, if he has to attend the case either give money or he won’t attend, then my mother had to give away her gold ear rings and bangles which she was wearing on the spot as she had no choice.

She decided to get better understanding of law so that atleast we are able to decipher what the lawyers are doing is correct or not. It turned out that we didn’t have a faithful lawyer and we decided to stop going to him and took back the case from him. We were in search of another lawyer in the meantime when somebody suggested party-in-person is allowed and we ourselves can argue the case.

She took the case and fought in high court and Supreme Court. There were no day or night when she was not discussing or talking about it to someone to get better understanding of processes and law. It is easier said than done, she became a master with all her effort we won the case in Supreme Court. The court said all kinds of damages to be given to us and forwarded it back to high court. To our surprise the high court again started questioning from ground and dismissed the case based on the calculation of the amount was coming to 50 crore Indian rupees.

Looks like we are still fighting a never ending war, there are lot of expenses that we are facing due to no fault of ours. Hence I urge people here to support us in whatever way they can for us to keep continue the fight. Even if we end up without a compensation I think the world is rich and humble enough to fill it.
