HFRS's fundraiser for The Fire Fighters Charity

HFRS Cycling Section is raising money for Fire Fighters Charity

Ride Around Herts 2025 · 13 July 2025

Fire Fighters Charity provides care and support to the UK’s fire family. It helps with any health and wellbeing challenges firefighters, control staff, and everyone working in – or retired from – the UK’s fire services, as well as their families, may face - during and after service

Story

Please donate today to support our dedicated Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service fire fighters as they raise money for members of our fire service family across the country.

On Sunday 13th of July, a group of dedicated Fire Fighters will cycle to every fire station across Hertfordshire to raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity.

Over the course of the day riders will rack up 180 miles as they visit the 29 Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service stations that serve the county.

The Fire Fighters’ Charity exists to help all serving and retired members of the UK’s fire family to live healthier and happier lives – offering vital support to protect those people who protect us.

Riders will make an early start on their ride at 5am, ensuring that they have time to complete their 180-mile journey to visit each station within one day.

As part of their event, they’ll take short refreshment stops at stations in Hemel Hempstead, Garston, Borehamwood, Hertford, Bishops Stortford, Royston, Hitchin and Stevenage, before heading back to St Albans. It’s expected that, including rest-stops, the ride will take around 20 hours to complete.
