Story
The Jay C Trust is a charity dedicated to helping individuals and families affected by Glioblastoma (GBM). GBM is an aggressive brain tumour and unfortunately, my family know the effects of it all too well.
In 2018, Jayesh Chauhan, my uncle, was diagnosed with GBM. Initially, we were unaware of what this actually meant, but quite quickly we saw the severity of the disease. Sadly, he passed away in 2019 and the charity was set up in memory of him.
For more information on GBM, please visit www.thejayctrust.com.
To raise awareness and funds, my cousin Rahul (Jay’s son) and I will attempt to run 3 marathons in 3 consecutive days between the 4th-6th of September 2023. We aim to run in various locations (ideally taking scenic routes), but as we’re both relatively inexperienced runners, we’ll complete the marathons throughout each day, ie a half marathon in the morning and again in the evening.
My uncle was a kind, clever and loving man who enjoyed sports and physical activity, which inspired us to fundraise in this manner.
We know from experience that carers often face the challenges of a Glioblastoma diagnosis every step of the way with their loved ones. No individual or family should endure the extreme mental and physical suffering of GBM without emotional and financial support. The Jay C Trust provides grants to those suffering from GBM. Please help us raise awareness and funds. Your support will help make a difference to a family at a very difficult time.
Thank you.
