Story
This year, my son Ravi and I will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro together to raise funds for Northamptonshire Mind — a cause that means a great deal to both of us.
Mental health challenges touch so many lives, often quietly and invisibly. Through my role as Chair of Trustees at Northamptonshire Mind, I have witnessed the courage of people facing difficult times and the life-changing impact that compassion, support, and simply being heard can have. Here at Northamptonshire Mind we believe that no one should have to face a mental health problem alone.
This climb is about much more than reaching the summit. It is about hope, resilience, and standing beside those who may be struggling. Taking on this challenge with Ravi makes it even more special for me — as a parent, there is something deeply meaningful about sharing such a demanding journey together for a cause we truly believe in.
There will undoubtedly be moments on the mountain that push us physically and emotionally, but they are nothing compared to the battles many people face every single day with anxiety, depression, loneliness, and mental health difficulties.
Preparing for this ultra challenge together, with the support of Fitbanker Expeditions, makes it especially meaningful. Climbing Kilimanjaro will test us in every way, but we’re proud to do it to help raise awareness and vital funds for a cause we deeply believe in.
We are asking for your support to help Northamptonshire Mind continue providing vital services to people across our community. Every donation, however small, will help someone feel less alone and more supported at a time when they need it most.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting Ravi and me on this journey, and for helping to make a difference to mental health in Northamptonshire.
