Story
My darling husband Ralph Buckley, love of my life and father of our beautiful daughter Lyra, died in the Critical Care Unit at the Royal Marsden in Chelsea on May 31st 2025, having been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in March and treated in Sutton. Ralph chose to undergo chemotherapy to try and gain a little more time with his family, but the progression of this awful disease was just too fast. We will miss him forever.
The teams at Sutton (particularly the Robert Tiffany ward and private day care) and in the Chelsea CCU were absolutely amazing - the compassion and dedication they demonstrated day in, day out was astonishing.
I am hoping that his friends and colleagues will support the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity in memory of Ralph. My hope is that one day humanity will know how to spot this devastating disease much earlier and treat it more effectively, and the Royal Marsden is already making such progress in so many ways. I don't want anyone to suffer as Ralph did and as we, his family, are now.
