In June 2023 whilst driving I felt a lump on the side of my neck.

After visits to my GP and various hospital trips for scans I was finally diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer in October.

On 11th January 2024 I had an operation for full thyroid removal and had 24 lymph nodes removed from my neck.

I have still to receive iodine treatment in April but things seem to be heading in the right direction.

Thanks to my family and colleagues who have been with me every step.

To Mr Townsley, my surgeon and all hospital staff at Crosshouse Hospital who even today are still caring for me, I give all my gratitude.
