“We’re raising £12,000 to help a team of multidisciplinary healthcare professionals develop and deliver healthcare services needed by vulnerable communities in India.”

We’re a multidisciplinary team of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH) Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) and nurses working with UK-based charity the Rama Foundation and Cambridge Global Health Partnerships (CGHP) to support the provision of healthcare and education to unserved communities in India. Through this partnership we’re helping Indian partner organisations develop and deliver the care provided by AHPs, with a particular focus on cancer and palliative care.

With CGHP’s support, we’re raising funds to enable a team of dedicated multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to deliver face-to-face training with our Indian partners in August. The AHPs volunteering their time include Dietitians, a Physiotherapist, Specialist Nurses, Speech and Language Therapists and a Therapy Radiographer.

Working collaboratively, we’ll provide hands-on training, mentoring and development opportunities to Indian healthcare staff that will improve patient care and quality of life among communities in need. We’ll bring back increased resilience and resourcefulness, as well as improved teamwork and problem solving, benefiting our NHS colleagues and patients.
