Those who in charity spend of their goods by night and by day, in secret and in public, have their reward with their Lord: on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. (2:274)
When a person dies, all their deeds end except three: a continuing charity, beneficial knowledge and a child who prays for them.
Due to the pandemic many of us have lost friends and family, and were not able to say our goodbyes. We are now left looking for ways to benefit the lives of those that have passed from this temporary world.
What is Sadaqah Jariya?
Sadaqatul jariyah is ongoing charity (continuous rewards) received by us that will not only benefit us in this life, but will continue to benefit us after our death.
As we all break our fasts with plates full of food and clean water, our brothers and sisters do not have that advantage, Islam has taught us well and never let us forget how our Beloved Prophet (PBUH) treated the ones who did not have what we have. So let’s multiply our deeds this Ramadan for no amount of charity giving can make us poor.
