Story
Every year the University of Nottingham's Rambling and Hiking Club holds its annual Dark Peak Marathon (DPM), a hiking challenge which sees participants hike a 40 or 60 km route around the stunning ridges and moorland of the Peak District National Park. Last year 14 participants attempted the challenge and in the process raised hundreds of pounds for the Peak District National Park Foundation.
This year we are raising the stakes. On Sunday 3rd May, over 20 participants will take part in our DPM and we have set an ambitious target of £500 for this year's chosen charity - Edale Mountain Rescue. Our hiking club regularly hikes within the area safeguarded by Edale Mountain Rescue and although we have never had to call upon them, we are very privileged to have such a team, and are well aware of the positive impact they have.
Please join us in supporting Edale Mountain Rescue as well as our daring participants with their challenge by donating today!
