Story
Simba responds to the needs of those affected by the loss of a baby.
The memory boxes Simba provides are precious to the families who receive them, some have said it would be the first thing they’d rescue in a house fire.
This year, Simba want to provide memories and support to more families than ever before, but there’s a problem…
Rising costs mean that providing each memory box now costs more, while fundraising has become harder as families and individuals face their own financial pressures
So, the time has come again for me to don my running gear and run a marathon to raise funds for Simba.
This year, I aim to raise £1,500, which could provide 100 small memory boxes for 100 families who have lost a baby in the early stages of pregnancy.
In the two years since I ran my Ultra Marathon for Simba, I’ve kept active but have not run any further than 10 miles. This marathon is going to be real step up in distance and fitness required.
To have the best chance of reaching the finishing line, I’ve adopted a rigid training regime of weekly long and short runs, hill sprints, strength training alongside a focus on sleep and nutrition.
Simba and I are grateful for any support you are able to offer. Every donation, whatever the size, will help provide precious memories and support to families at an incredibly difficult time.
