Royal Parks Half Marathon 2024 · 13 October 2024 ·

We are a grant giving charitable trust set up in 2020 in memory of Simon Rivett-Carnac who took his life in December 2019. We aim to support charities that work in the field of mental health in memory of Simon and leave a meaningful legacy to a wonderful husband, father, brother and friend.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have made the rash decision to enter the Royal Parks Half Marathon on Sunday 13th October. The last time I did something similar was in 2013 when I ran the London Marathon with my wonderful friend and colleague, Simon Rivett-Carnac.

For a sedentary 57 year old the prospect of running 21 kms is rather daunting, but I am buoyed up by the thought that I will be doing this to raise money for The Simon Rivett Carnac Trust www.therivtrust.org.uk . This charity was set up in memory of Simon, who tragically took his life in December 2019, after a terrible battle with depression and anxiety. It gives money to UK charities that work in the field of mental health and has already made an enormous difference since it was set up in 2021.

I am also buoyed up by the thought that I will be joined in the Royal Parks Half by my 18 year old son, Alexander, who was Simon’s godson.

We have set up this Just Giving page and if you feel able to give something Alexander and I would both be enormously touched and grateful.
