Story
you don't get what you wish for - you get what you work for
**Final Update**
On Saturday 28th September, the final try-a-tri'ers entered the arena. The sea conditions were exceptional, the air temp a balmy 9*c.
It has been an incredible experience, our coach - Paul 'Wee Strangey' Strange (https://www.instagram.com/weestrangey/) - got us all over the line and made it fun, funny, tough, and painful all in equal measure.
A huge thank you to Rapid7 and David Currie for providing us with this opportunity. We sincerely hope more R7 Moose get the opportunity to experience this, for many of us it has been life changing.
**update**
Due to blue-green algae present at Castlewellan the event was turned into a duathalon 3km run-20km bike-5km run
Jonny Gamble
Kyle McWhirter
Nuala Heery
Mark Wilson
all competed and did us proud.
Many of us are then targeting various other events, from Valentia Island Triathlon event in County Kerry to Pulse Port Beach Triathlon in Clogherhead, County Lough. All on the 28th September.
So training continues, the pain continues. All as the sea temperatures continue to drop.
**
On Saturday 7th September 10 Rapid7 colleagues will be taking part in the Mourne Sprint Triathlon at Castlewellan. 10 weeks of training under their belt, under the watchful eye of Paul Strange, a former Triathlon Ireland coach.
David Currie put out the call for 10 places on R7 Belfasts 'Try a Tri' program. We answered the call. Half way through the training we regret answering the call. But we forge on regardless.
