Climbing up Scafell Pike
START provides a range of services for people of all ages, and genders who have suffered sexual trauma and are recent, or past survivors of rape or sexual abuse/assault. This includes 121 counselling, groupwork and peer support programmes.

Story

Sexual Trauma & Abuse Restorative Therapies (START) offer specialist counselling and support to those who need it. START are funded by the Ministry of Justice, through the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire (OPCC), the OPCC, Hampshire County Council and NHSEngland, by donations and by charitable giving. The main office is in Winchester and is run by a group of wonderful volunteers helping those who are processing their trauma through the most challenging time of their lives. Survivors often hold on to feelings of fear, guilt and shame which is something this charity aims to overcome. Myself and my best friend Kirstie will be climbing Scafell Pike in October to raise money which will help START continue their vital work and help others. Scafell Pike is the highest and most prominent mountain in England.
