RAVING HEARTS for ROWLZEY & The British Heart Foundation

RAVING HEARTS – 10 Week Mix Series · 25 May 2024
Last July, we suddenly lost our close friend Liam Rowles to SADS, aged 26.
Having had no prior personal or second-hand experience or exposure to SADS, the majority of us felt deeply confused. Research led to the British Heart Foundation – but cardiac issues don't affect young people, do they?
Unfortunately, this is far from the truth.
SADS, or sudden arrhythmic death syndrome, is when someone dies suddenly and unexpectedly from a cardiac arrest, but the cause of the cardiac arrest can’t be found.
According to the NHS: “Every week in the UK, 12 apparently fit and healthy young people (aged 35 and under) die suddenly from a previously undiagnosed heart condition – around 600 deaths annually.
The British Heart Foundation further attributes SADS to 500 deaths annually in the UK.
To bring attention to all cardiac issues – SADS in particular – and celebrate Liam's life, we have decided to fundraise for the British Heart Foundation through a 10-week mix series: RAVING HEARTS.
One of Liam's biggest loves in life was music. It formed the basis of my personal relationship with him – we spent most (if not all) days sending each other music and talking about music. One of our last conversations before he passed was encouraging me to get into DJing, which inspired the concept of RAVING HEARTS.
For 10 weeks, 10 of our talented friends from around the UK and Europe will be releasing a mix via our AT THE SESSIONS platform.

We hope that, through a shared love of music, we can bring greater attention to cardiac issues, bring awareness to SADS, and support the British Heart Foundation.
