Walk/Kayak - Source to Sea of the river Avon · 12 July 2025

Bristol Avon Rivers Trust (BART) is a charity which delivers education, land and river management advice and practical river restoration work throughout the Bristol Avon catchment. We aim to re-connect communities to their local rivers and help them to better appreciate and improve them for the benefit of people and wildlife. BART aims to conserve and enhance the status of our waterbodies for current and future generations.

Story

Hello! We're Oliver Wright, Thomas Rodgers, we'll be undertaking an exciting journey from the source of the River Avon all the way to the sea, a total of 83 miles.

Inspired by similar journeys along rivers like the Thames, our expedition aims to raise awareness about river pollution. Throughout our voyage, we'll be continuously in the river, wading and kayaking, actively measuring pollution levels, documenting the health of the river, and sharing our findings to highlight the importance of protecting our waterways.

We are raising money for the Bristol Avon Rivers Trust (BART), supporting their vital work in preserving and restoring the natural beauty and ecological integrity of the River Avon.

Every donation, big or small, makes a difference!

Thank you for your support,

Oliver and Thomas
