Working with over 11,000 people with a sight impairment in Kent and surrounding areas, we’re one of the largest local sight loss charities in the UK. Our aims are to work to prevent avoidable sight loss, deliver excellent support services and help people to live independently.

Story

Thanks for checking out my page and I am now on to my 26th consecutive London Marathon.

Over the years I have raised and continue to do so for the the Kent Association for the Blind of which I am an ambassador.

Going back over the my best time was 3 hours, 23 minutes in 2002 and I am already looking forward to the next one!

Every day, 250 people in the UK begin losing their sight. Hearing that you have irreversible sight loss can be devastating, affecting both emotional wellbeing and daily life. Simple tasks like walking to the shops, cooking, or reading can feel overwhelming.

KAB services help people live as independently as possible, whether it’s providing training to walk using a long cane, equipment advice, help understanding technology, counselling support, social groups or family activities, our goal is to build people’s confidence and independence.
