Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.

Story

In May Jodie Keeling will be joining a team from Alltask to take on the challenge of climbing Mount Snowdon to raise funds in memory of her amazing Dad, Ray.

Ray was a no-nonsense northerner with a fierce sense of humour and generous soul. He enjoyed life to the fullest which rubbed off on the people around him. Ray’s enjoyment of life was well-earned as an intelligent and hard-working man. His best friend and proudest achievement remained Jodie who carries on his ‘doing life big’ attitude and brightening effect on the world around her."

Sepsis is rarely spoken about, and the signs and symptoms are not household knowledge. I want to support the UK Sepsis Trust in their aim to educate the public and healthcare professionals about the warning signs of the condition, cut diagnosis time and ultimately save lives.

Sepsis is a life-threatening condition that affects 245,000 people in the UK every year. At the UK Sepsis Trust, we are dedicated to saving lives and improving outcomes for sepsis survivors. But we can’t do it alone. We need your help to raise vital funds and awareness.
