Story
Hi Beautiful People,
On 23rd September 2023, I will be trekking 100km within the Dunes of Wadi Rum and Petra in Jordan along with 119 colleague in the spirit of Sustainability.
With no access to typical facilities like hot showers, WiFi and a comfortable bed, everyone will be carrying their own personal equipment and camping gear for 5 days, sleeping rough in the middle of nowhere.
Why are we doing this?
To support sustainability growth and raise funds to empower communities economically and promote child safety through a non-profit organization Jordan River Foundation (JRF)
Funds will be used for the below projects, in line with the sustainability (environment) theme :
1) Wadi Rayan Project – Established in 1997, the Wadi Al Rayan Project revolutionized the use of cattail reeds and banana leaves as raw manufacturing materials, which were previously burnt and disposed of, posing as an environmental hazard to the Wadi’s inhabitants. Cattail reeds and banana leaves (over 10 tons each year) are used to produce handwoven environment friendly products, including baskets, coasters, mats, wall hangings among other home accessories.
2) Solar Panels Project – Purchasing and installing solar PV panels to use the abundant sunlight in Jordan, reducing the dependency on non-renewable energy. These solar PV panels produce over 340,000 kWh of energy, leading to over USD 120K saves annually
I wont achieve this without your support!
Yalla show some love and give back to your community
