A 1000 mile motorcycle ride within 24 hours raising money for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal · 6 June 2026

The Lloyd's and City of London Branch Royal British Legion raises funds to help those in need, who are currently serving or have served in the British Armed Forces. Each year we coordinate London Poppy Day. We are the custodians of remembrance in the Lloyd's and City of London community.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This is my fundraiser for the Royal British Legion Riders 1000 event taking place on the 6th/7th June 2026, organised by the Iron Butt Association UK.

A group of 3 of us, Jonty, Chris and I will be undertaking the Royal British Legion Rider's 1000 mile fundraiser for the poppy appeal on 6th/7th June. We have to start by riding to Squires Cafe, just outside Leeds (over 300 miles), and then from 5am on Saturday 6th June, aim to ride 1000 miles within 24 hours, returning to Squires by 5am on Sunday 7th June.

November air carries the scent of frost… and poppies.

Over a hundred years ago, a young man from your street kissed his mum goodbye. He never came home.

Today, his great-grandson wears the same surname — and the same poppy.

The Royal British Legion doesn’t just remember. They act. A hot meal for a veteran sleeping rough. A counsellor’s voice on a midnight helpline. A prosthetic limb that lets a double-amputee walk his daughter down the aisle.

As we prepare for the upcoming challenge of a 24 Hour 1000 Mile Endurance Motorcycle Ride on June 6th, 2026, we are reminded of those who sacrificed their tomorrows for our today. Every pound you give turns memory into mercy.

We invite you to join us in this journey to support the Royal British Legion Riders Branch. Together, let’s ensure that those who have given so much receive the care and support they deserve.

I would very much appreciate any support to raise money for this worthwhile cause, supporting our veterans, and making a difference in their lives. Lest we forget!

Thank you for taking the time to look at my page.
