As a lover of music, I believe that every child deserves the opportunity to experience the joy of creating and performing. Unfortunately, budget cuts and test-score pressures have led to a decline in arts education in Texas schools. That's why I'm raising funds on GivingTuesday 2023 for the Austin Jazz Workshop Inc. Their mission is to encourage youth participation in school music programs through campus and public jazz performances, bring the American Jazz heritage into underserved communities, and promote a vibrant cultural arts environment by employing local musicians of diverse ages, origins, and ethnicities.

I've been involved with this organization for nearly 20 years because I believe in their mission. The Austin Jazz Workshop has been instrumental in exposing Austin youth to jazz and providing them with opportunities to learn from talented musicians.
