Dominic at theMSguide is raising money for Shift.ms

Riding an adapted and upgraded trike from Halifax, NS to Vancouver, BC · 1 May 2025

Shift.ms is the social network for people with multiple sclerosis. Founded by MSers, for MSers, the charity supports many thousands of recently diagnosed people across the world, as they make sense of MS. It’s independent and it’s free.

Story

In 2025, theMSguide (Dominic) embarks on an extraordinary journey, a coast-to-coast, 8,000 km cycling expedition across Canada with the ambitious goal of raising $1 million for MS Brain Health initiatives.

This epic ride symbolizes resilience, determination, and the power of community, aiming to transform the lives of people living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

#RideCanada4MS is dedicated to raising awareness and funds for global multiple sclerosis Brain Health programmes. At Shift.ms this programme includes supporting MSers to make informed, long-term decisions to enhance brain health through group peer support and MSer-led resources.

By supporting #RideCanada4MS, you're not only enhancing the lives of MSers but ensuring they have better long term health outcomes."

There is a great deal more - constant if you ask him - of physical conditioning required of Dominic. There is also the small matter of the fact that he's had MS for 32 years.

As Dominic acknowledges, he is a competent cyclist but not a great walker anymore and certainly no dancer!

You can follow his effort/pain/mistakes/sweating on theMSguide.com YouTube channel, where he posts regular Shorts on the training, as well as expert interviews about MS Brain Health with a global panel of experts.
