100km for Royal Cornwall Hospitals Charity

Race To The Stones 2025 · 12 July 2025 to 13 July 2025 ·
This July I'll be running 100KM to raise money for Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust Charity. I am running Race to the Stones in one go - yes, 100km with no break. Find out more here
Almost a year ago my Mum, Frances, was blue-lighted to Treliske RCHT with a perforated large intestine caused by a (surprise) cancerous tumour.
At 79, the odds of Mum surviving major surgery let alone the septic shock and sepsis were less than 5%. In fact, Mum very nearly didn't make it through the first of two surgeries. Happily though Mum proved everyone wrong.
My Mum, and countless other people, would not be here today if it wasn't for the incredible, round-the-clock care received in the Critical Care Unit at Treliske.
This is Mum's 80th, she made it!
You may not live in Cornwall but if you ever intend to visit, it will be Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust who will be there when you need them. In Summer our services are particularly overstretched. Over the months we were in Critical Care, we sadly saw many people come through who were on holiday.
Your support moves care at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust beyond the basic provision of the NHS. It will also help provide support to families with loved ones in critical condition.
Charities pay a small fee for our service. Learn more about fees
