So I have set myself another challenge. Moving into 2024 I am hoping to raise £5,500 minimum for Human Appeal in order to confirm my place on the REACH deployment programme. I am hoping once I have raised the money I can secure a place on the 2-8th September 2024 trip to Lebanon to provide emergency aid to those in need 🇱🇧

As you are already aware since the war started in Syria, its neighbouring countries such as Lebanon have experienced an overflow of more than 3 million refugees. Refugees having fled war with little provisions, face daily battles for food, accommodation, medicine, health care and other basic needs of life.

Human Appeal is a non-profit organisation working across the globe to strengthen humanity’s fight against poverty, social injustice and natural disaster. With your support we will aim to establish healthcare, education, and livelihood programmes that pave the way for empowered, self-serving communities. We will also provide food, medical aid, and disaster relief during emergencies, a critical intervention that saves lives.

£20 - Can provide a family with a hot meal

£40 - Provide a vulnerable family with food, clean water, and medical aid. Your donation can transform the recovery of a family that has lost their home and livelihood. 

£50- provides a family with a dignity kit. A kit with essentials for hygiene such as sanitation products for females, toothpaste, soap, and cleaning products etc.

£70 – Can keep a family-of-five fed and nourished for an entire month with a wholesome and nutritious food parcel. 

£70 – Can provide a family with 20 litres of fuel, keeping them warm through winter. 

£100 - Can provide an emergency kit - provide a family with food, water, and basic medical care.

£200 – Can provide 200 babies with access to the neonatal new rehabilitated care unit within its first six months.

£250 - Can help us be ready to respond rapidly, wherever and whenever disaster strikes, helping families to survive.

What is the REACH programme?

Throughout the year, our Reachers travel overseas to gain an in-depth, on-the-ground understanding of what it takes to deliver aid amidst humanitarian crises. Reachers will learn transferable skills such as fundraising, communication, and how to be both a team-player and a great leader. Reachers develop grit, resolve, resilience, and compassion, while gaining an insight into how NGOs work. One thing’s for sure, a Reach Deployment can change your life forever.

Why have I chosen to do this?

Giving to charity and volunteering to support charitable donations is so important to me. I honestly would do anything to help others. This is something that has become paramount in everyday life for me, since reverting to Islam and becoming Muslim back in 2021. Previously I completed a sky dive for Wheatfields hospice, a memory walk for Alzheimer’s Society, raised money to help the people of Bangladesh and more recently I supported my friend Sophie with a charity bake sale for One Nation Charity.
