Story
Education changes everything—but only when students have access to the right resources.”
At Realising Education for Development (READ Tanzania), we are working to refurbish and establish libraries in public secondary schools—creating safe, inspiring, and resourceful spaces for learning.
To support international giving, we are raising funds via Tanzania Development Trust (TDT), a registered UK charity that has generously agreed to transfer 100% of all donations directly to our work in Tanzania.
Right now, many students are eager to learn but lack access to books, a conducive learning environment, and structured literacy support.
🎯 This fundraiser will support one school library to:
• 📚 Renovate and furnish the space
• 📖 Provide essential books and learning materials
• 👩🏽🏫 Establish reading clubs to build confidence and literacy skills
• 🌱 Create a strong culture of reading that supports long-term learning
All donations will be spent entirely on charitable impact—not on organisational overheads or staff costs—as our core operations are generously supported by KJF.
READ Tanzania has already successfully refurbished libraries 178 public secondary schools in Tanzania, transforming empty or under-resourced rooms into vibrant learning hubs where students can read, study, and grow. (You can explore more of our impact and recent projects on our website.)
For many students, this library will be more than just a room—it will be a gateway to opportunity, imagination, and a brighter future.
By supporting this project, you are not just donating books or furniture—you are investing in a generation of young people in Tanzania who deserve the chance to learn, grow, and thrive.
Every contribution, big or small, makes a real difference.
