Story
I am embarking on a journey that is close to my heart, participating in the Jurassic Coast Ultra Challenge on May 16, 2026. My sister died from epilepsy 46 years ago on this date. As a GP, I am all too aware of the tragedy of death from bowel cancer. This challenge is not just a test of endurance; it is a tribute to the support provided by the Northamptonshire Health Charity to patient care.
Andy Roberts a dear friend and neighbour received life-saving treatment from the colorectal department, and I am grateful for the exceptional care he received. The charity plays a vital role in funding essential services and resources that go beyond what the NHS can provide. It is this support that makes a significant difference in the lives of patients and their families.
As I prepare for this walk, I am reminded of the importance of community and connection. Moving together in nature brings numerous wellbeing benefits, and I invite others to join me on training walks to experience Northampton's beautiful scenery. Together, we can foster hope and resilience while raising funds for an incredible cause.
I am aiming to raise £1,000 to support Northamptonshire Health Charity. Your contributions will help ensure that more patients receive the care they need when they need it most. Please consider donating or joining me on this journey; every step we take together brings us closer to making a positive impact.
