Rebecca's story
In 2018, Rebecca was told she would never run again, following a serious knee injury. She started personal training with David Hanna on October 11 2024, and became fit enough to start running with the DHF club runners in January 2025. Rebecca has lost more than 100lbs of unwanted weight since she started training at DHF.
Rebecca has successfully completed one 5k race and four 10k races in 2025, running with permanent impairment to her left leg managed through training and conditioning. The Belfast City Half Marathon will be her first 21k race.
Belfast Chamber & David Hanna Fitness – Belfast Half Marathon for Marie Curie
On Sunday 21st September, members of Belfast Chamber and David Hanna Fitness will come together to take part in the Belfast Half Marathon in support of Marie Curie – a charity that holds deep meaning for many of us.
Marie Curie provides expert care and support to people living with a terminal illness, as well as their families and loved ones. Whether at home, in one of their hospices, or over the phone, Marie Curie ensures people receive the compassion, dignity and care they deserve at the end of life.
With over 75 years of experience and as a leader in research and advocacy, Marie Curie not only delivers frontline care but also works tirelessly to improve end-of-life support across the UK.
Your support will help this vital organisation continue its work, reach more people, and influence lasting change in how we experience the end of life.
Please consider donating – every contribution makes a meaningful difference.
