Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

I am completing the Manchester marathon on 14th April 2024, over the last few years I have been training and have completed half marathons and completed my first marathon in 2022. This time I would like to raise money for the Fortalice Charity who have supported myself and my family, this is a charity close to my heart and I want to be able to give something back to those that have helped us when we needed it the most leaving our home with nothing more than what we had in a bag and the clothes on our back.

Your donations will make a huge difference to the lives of adults and children who have experienced domestic abuse. For some, your support will literally be life-saving.

Fortalice provides purpose built temporary accommodation and professional support services. Income raised through these fundraisers helps to offer refuge, safety, advice and support for those fleeing abusive situations, help to rebuild lives, and provide education programs for young people in schools.

The service support women, men, families, children and young people. They work to promote a future free from abuse.

Domestic abuse can have a lasting impact on young peoples’ lives. Feelings of guilt, anxiety, anger, isolation, and fear for personal safety and difficulty sleeping are all common. They offer a range of support for children and young people who have witnessed domestic abuse or who are in an unhealthy relationship of their own. They have helped hundreds of young people tackle issues like skipping school, self-harming, choosing bad relationships, taking unnecessary risks, and challenging behaviors. Counselling services are available to children and young people.

Please if you can donate and support this amazing charity that continues to provide and support people while I run the 26 miles around Manchester I would be greatly appreciative.
